European Women’s Team Selection
The Selection Committee is pleased to announce that last year’s winning Lady Milne team has been selected ‘en-bloc’ to represent Scotland at Ostend in 2010. Sheila Adamson & Anne Martin

VuGraph Operations Manual
At the recent BBO seminar held at the October Congress we used a manual produced by the Australian Bridge Federation that was extremely useful to help train future BBO operators. This is now available for download on the Resources page.

VP Scales
Convenors should ensure that the correct scales are used.  They should also check the default scales on their computer scoring programs to ensure that the SBU scales are being used for Scotttish events.

A fast-track course in the basics of bridge, aimed at University students,
has been produced by the European Bridge League, and a translation is now available on our website.

Master Point Rankings

Rankings with effect from 31st December have been published.


Limitation of Penalties
Clubs may make their own rules regarding limitation of penalties in aggregate tournaments however the SBU recommend that the rules laid down in the 1951 edition of Farrington's "Duplicate Bridge Movements" is adopted, including the recommendation that "no score shall be limited to less than the score made by any other pair playing the hand in the same direction whose score is not subject to limitation".
