2007 Laws
The SBU will implement the new laws on 1st September 2008.
Scottish Cup Final
The final between Short (1) and Steel (2) is to be played at Dundee Bridge club on 17 May, starting at 11am. Play in both rooms will be broadcast on BBO, where the start time for each set will be published.

SBU Annual General Meeting
This will take place on Tuesday 27th May at 7.30pm in Stirling and Union Bridge Club.

Entry fees for Juniors (i.e. under 25) are 50% of the standard rate.

Limitation of Penalties
Clubs may make their own rules regarding limitation of penalties in aggregate tournaments however the SBU recommend that the rules laid down in the 1951 edition of Farrington's "Duplicate Bridge Movements" is adopted, including the recommendation that "no score shall be limited to less than the score made by any other pair playing the hand in the same direction whose score is not subject to limitation".

Open Team
In the final trial for the Open Team,  Brian Short & Jack Paterson, Les Steel & Bif McGeorge, Douglas Piper & John Murdoch beat John Matheson & Iain Sime, David Liggatt & Roy Bennett, Ian Howie & Mike McGinley by 98 imps.
Subsequent to this Piper & Murdoch have had to withdraw for personal reasons. The replacement third pair has been confirmed as David Walker and Malcolm Cuthbertson.
Alan Goodman has been appointed NPC and John Murdoch as Coach.

 
Scottish Schools Teams and Frischmann Trophy
The teams will be at Stirling BC on Saturday May 31st at 12noon and the Frischmann on Sunday June 1st at 11am.
