The lessons are divided into batches of ten for convenience. The course can be completed in two or three years, and each lesson comes with examples, a handout, hands to play and a quiz. The Improvers Course for club players is also complete. There are eight seminars on Constructive Bidding, eight on Competitive Bidding, and eight on Conventions You Need to Know. Each seminar consists of examples, quizzes, set hands to play and a handout. Taking a class is a long term investment in the future of your club – and it is fun. For more information, and a free copy of the lessons, contact your local Education Officer, or the Convener. We would like to place particular emphasis on attracting young players to Bridge. So we are preparing material for teaching Minibridge in schools, or to your children and grandchildren. Now that Jennie McCartney due to ill-health has given up the job, we are looking for someone to co-ordinate the Minibridge initiative, so if you have contact with a school and time to spare you may be that person. We are compiling a database of teachers to keep you up-to-date with local teachers’ get-togethers, No Fear events, and any new material as it becomes available. We hope to send a regular newsletter to you all, and if you would like an electronic copy please send an Email with details of your classes to the Convener. District Education Officers
These are the people who will help with advice and materials, and who need to know where and when you teach and what you are prepared to do. All teachers and volunteers should make sure that they are in contact with their District Education Officer for information about events in their area and Teacher Training Days. |
