The Learners Course of 60 Lessons is now complete. The Lessons are divided into batches of 10 for convenience. The Course can be completed in two or three years, and each lesson comes with examples, a handout, hands to play and a quiz.
The Improvers Course for club players is also complete. There are 8 seminars on Constructive Bidding, 8 on Competitive Bidding, and 8 on Conventions You Need to Know.  Each seminar consists of examples, quizzes, set hands to play and a handout.

Taking a class is a long term investment in the future of your club – and it is fun. For more information, and a free copy of the Lessons, contact your local Education officer, or the Convener. We would like to place particular emphasis on attracting young players to Bridge. So we are preparing material for teaching Minibridge in schools, or to your children and grandchildren. Jenny McCartney has agreed to co-ordinate the Minibridge initiative, so if you have contact with a school and a few hours to spare she is the person to talk to.

We are compiling a database of teachers to keep you up-to-date with local teachers’ get-togethers, No Fear events, and any new material as it becomes available. We hope to send a regular newsletter to you all, and if you would like an electronic copy please send an Email with details of your classes to the Convener.

Bridge for Students in Further Education
A fast-track course in the basics of bridge, aimed at University students, has been produced by the European Bridge League, and a translation is now
available on our website. Anyone interested in starting a bridge group in a University or College should find the material useful.
The SBU is committed to encouraging Junior Bridge, so anyone with contacts in a further education establishment should contact the Education Officer for their area, or the Education Convener, who will be delighted to offer support and assistance.

These are the people who will help with advice and materials, and who need to know where and
when you teach and what you are prepared to do. All teachers and volunteers should make sure
that they are in contact with their District Education Officer for information about events in their
area and Teacher Training Days.
