To register your points, count and list them and forward them
to the MP Secretary quoting the club to which you belong and also your
SBU membership number. You will be issued with a SBU Master Points No.
which must be quoted on all competition forms and in any communication
with the MP Secretary. Master Points won in national events are entered
directly into the computer and it is essential that all players ensure
that the Tournament Organiser is given their MP number otherwise Master
Points cannot be awarded. Players competing in EBU or BGB events should
quote their MP number on the MP cards which will then be sent directly
to the SBU Master Points Secretary.
Change of Address
Please inform the MP Secretary of any change of address.
Certificates showing Rank changes are issued automatically as they
occur.
Registration of Points
Points are valid for three years and may be sent at any time
to the MP Secretary. Unless you are changing you should not submit
points more than once a year. The MP Handbook is published annually at
the beginning of June. Promotions are published 4 times a year in the
SBU News and the website is updated at the same time
(www.scottishbridge.com). Players are sent cards when they are
promoted and notification of the ranked competitions for which they are
eligible. After promotion a player may not register to play in a lower
ranked competition but may play up with a partner of a higher rank with
the permission of the Convener. In National competitions, players
beneath the rank of Scottish Master are eligible for Bronze awards and
players of Scottish and National Master ranks are eligible for Silver
awards. The cost to club secretaries is £20 per book of 100
points.
