Registration of Points
To register your points, please count and list the points on the Master
Point Claim form (as per the example on the form) and forward them to
the MP Secretary quoting your home club also your SBU Master Point
number. If you are submitting your points for the first time please
write ‘New’ in the Master Point number box and ensure that
your full name and address are included. A copy of the form is
available for down loading on the SBU website:
www.scottishbridge.co.uk If submitting points for the first
time you will be issued with a SBU Master Points Number that must be
quoted on all competition forms and in any communication with the MP
Secretary.
Points are valid for three years from the date of issue and
may be sent at any time to the MP Secretary. Unless you are changing
rank you should not submit points more than once a year. Master Points
won in most national events are entered directly into your Master Point
record and it is essential that all players ensure that the Tournament
Organiser is given their MP number. Likewise points won in League
matches are entered directly into your Master Point record on receipt
of the League Claim form from the team Captain.
Players are automatically sent cards when they are promoted
with notification of the ranked competitions for which they are
eligible. Please ensure, therefore, that any change of address is
advised to the Master Point Secretary as soon as possible.
Master Points Ranks
The MP Handbook is published annually at the start of the season.
Promotions are published 4 times a year in the SBU News and the website
is updated at the same time. A full list of all players is available on
the website and is updated monthly. After promotion a player may
not register to play in a lower ranked competition but may play up with
a partner of a higher rank with the permission of the Convener. In
